Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS AT DEEPENING ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS, SYNTAX AND VERBAL TENSES, AS WELL AS PROVIDING A CRITICAL REFLECTION ON THE MAIN TRANSLATION STRATEGIES.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL:
-CONSOLIDATE EXPERIENCE OF READING AND LISTENING TO DOCUMENTS OF VARIOUS KINDS IN FRENCH. ABILITY TO USE COMPUTER PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO PROCESS FRENCH TEXTS;
-STRENGTHEN THEIR FRENCH READING AND LISTENING SKILLS OF DOCUMENTS OF VARIOUS KINDS;
-LEARN HOW TO USE COMPUTER PROGRAMS FOR WORD PROCESSING IN FRENCH;
-KNOW ABOUT THE MAIN TRANSLATION STRATEGIES

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE BOTH WRITTEN AND ORAL FRENCH AT A B2 LEVEL OF THE EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES.
- CARRY OUT A LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS THROUGH THEORETICAL REFLECTIONS AND PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES ON TEXTS OF DIFFERENT GENRES;
- PRODUCE AND TRANSLATE TEXTS ABOUT VARIOUS TOPICS, ALTHOUGH NOT HIGHLY SPECIALIZED.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO
- AUTONOMOUSLY ANALYZE AND EVALUATE LINGUISTIC, NORMATIVE AND COMMUNICATIVE ASPECTS, AS WELL AS THE MAIN METHODS OF TRANSFERRING FROM ONE LANGUAGE INTO ANOTHER.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH A WIDE RANGE OF COMMUNICATIVE, PROFESSIONAL AS WELL AS SOCIAL AND ACADEMIC SITUATIONS.

LEARNING SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY REFERENCES, TOOLS AND LEARNING SKILLS NECESSARY TO GET FURTHER LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL SKILLS ALSO WITH THE AID OF IT TOOLS.
Prerequisites
LINGUE E CULTURE STRANIERE STUDENTS WILL HAVE PASSED THE EXAMS IN FRENCH LANGUAGE II AND FRENCH LITERATURE II. STUDENTS OF EVGPT GRADUTAION SHALL HAVE PASSED THE EXAM OF FRANCESE CORSO BASE.

READING, ANALYSIS, DETAILS, TRANSLATION AND COMMENTARY OF TEXTS AND DOCUMENTS CONCERNING:
• REPORT ON A UNIVERSITY AND PROFESSIONAL PATH
• DIFFERENT LEARNING STYLES BETWEEN ITALIAN AND FRENCH
• CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES, RESULTS RELATED TO CURRENT EVENTS
• TOPICS CONCERNING THE VALIDITY OF USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES
• PROBLEMS OF GENERAL CULTURE
• PROBLEMS CONCERNING SAFEGUARD AND DEFENSE OF THE ENVIRONMENT
• SOCIO-CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS BETWEEN ITALY AND FRANCE
• VALUE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE PLACES OF MEMORY
CENTRAL ISSUES OF THE THEORY AND PRACTICES OF TRANSLATION WILL BE ADDRESSED THROUGH COMPARATIVE-CONTRASTIVE COMPARISON BETWEEN CONTACT CODES THROUGH THE TRANSLATION OF TEXTS OF VARIOUS TYPES.
• METHODS AND OBJECTIVES OF TRANSLATION INTO ITALIAN
IN CONSIDERATION OF THE IMPORTANCE THAT THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES HAVE TAKEN TODAY AND, IN PARTICULAR, OF THE WEIGHT THEY HAVE IN THE PROFESSION OF THE TRANSLATOR, THE COURSE ALSO PURPOSES TO DEVELOP EFFECTIVELY THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO USE COMPUTER AIDS NETWORK GROUP.
ATTENDING STUDENTS WILL BE FOLLOWED IN INDIVIDUAL PATHS BOTH IN THE TRANSLATION TESTS AND IN THE PRESENTATION OF ALTERNATIVE STUDY PROPOSALS. A CYCLE OF EXERCISES WILL INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO RESEARCH AND DOCUMENTATION PROBLEMS.
Teaching Methods
THE FRENCH LANGUAGE III COURSE INCLUDES 45 HOURS OF LESSONS.
THE FRENCH COURSE ADVANCED COURSE INCLUDES 60 HOURS OF LESSONS
88 HOURS OF LINGUISTIC PRACTICE WITH THE COLLABORATORS AND LINGUISTIC EXPERTS ARE PROVIDED.
Verification of learning
WRITTEN EXAM CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN TEST NECESSARY TO TAKE THE ORAL TEST.
WRITTEN TEST FOR LINGUE E CULTURE STUDENTS: THE TEST LASTS 6 HOURS AND CONSISTS OF SUBJECTS STUDIED DURING THE COURSE, ON CONTENTS OF THE BOOKS PROPOSED FOR THE STUDY OF FRENCH DURING THE COURSE. WRITTEN TEST FOR STUDENTS OF LINGUA FRANCESE III CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:
-DICTATION,
-DISSERTATION,
-TRANSLATION FROM FRENCH INTO ITALIAN.
WRITTEN TEST FOR EVGPT STUDENTS:
-TRANSLATION FROM FRENCH INTO ITALIAN.
THE FINAL MARK IS THE AVERAGE OF THE THREE TEST MARKS.
STUDENTS OF FRANCESE CORSO BASE WILL HAVE TO PASS ONLY A TRANSLATION FROM FRENCH ONTO ITALIANA.
ORAL TEST: THE EXAM CONSISTS OF A CONVERSATION ON SUBJECTS STUDIED DURING THE COURSE. SUBJECTS STUDIED INDEPENDENTLY BY SINGLE STUDENTS OR IN GROUP WILL BE APPRECIATED.
THE FINAL MARK WILL BE THE AVERAGE OF THE WRITTEN AND ORAL TEST MARKS.
STUDENTS ATTENDING THE COURSE CAN TAKE PARTS OF THE EXAM DURING THE COURSE.
