Objectives
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH IN-DEPTH METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS TO ANALYTICALLY PROBE SOME CENTRAL ASPECTS RELATED TO THE STUDY OF PHENOMENA RELATING TO INTERTEXTUALITY IN SPANISH LITERATURE, PARTICULARLY IN TEXT OF THE BAROQUE PERIOD (SIGLO DE ORO).

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
AT THE END OF THE COURSE STUDENTS WILL:
-KNOW ABOUT THE DISCIPLINARY FOUNDATIONS LINKED TO THE STUDY OF GOLDEN SPANISH LITERATURE, MAINLY THEATRICAL AND POETIC LITERATURE
-UNDERSTAND THE INTERTEXTUAL RELATIONSHIPS THAT ARE ESTABLISHED, AT VARIOUS LEVELS, BETWEEN TEXTS BELONGING TO DIFFERENT LITERARY GENRES
-BE ABLE TO ANALYZE THE STRATEGIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE DIFFERENT WAYS OF REWRITING WITHIN LITERARY PRODUCTS IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
-KNOW ABOUT THE GENERIC, STYLISTIC, ETC. SPECIFICITIES OF THE VARIOUS LITERARY MANIFESTATIONS PRODUCED IN SPAIN IN THE SIGLO DE ORO PERIOD.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
AT THE END OF THE COURSE STUDENTS WILL:
-AUTONOMOUSLY DETECT AND EVALUATE THE PECULIARITIES LINKED TO THE REWRITING PHENOMENA PRESENT IN LITERARY WORKS
-INDEPENDENTLY APPLY THE CRITERIA AND CRITICAL METHODOLOGIES LEARNED IN AN APPROPRIATE WAY TO THE DIFFERENT TEXT TYPES
-SELECT TARGETED TOOLS AND BIBLIOGRAPHIES, AIMED AT A CRITICAL APPROACH TO THE BAROQUE LITERARY TEXT
-DEVELOP A TEXT ANALYSIS APPLYING THE CRITICAL TOOLS ACQUIRED AND / OR IDENTIFIED AS A RESULT OF RESEARCH.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
KNOW HOW TO INDEPENDENTLY IDENTIFY AND EVALUATE THE POSSIBILITIES OF ANALYZING THE LITERARY TEXT AND THE PHENOMENON OF INTERTEXTUALITY IN BAROQUE WORKS, APPLYING THE THEORETICAL AND CRITICAL TOOLS ACQUIRED.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
KNOW HOW TO PRESENT, IN WRITTEN OR ORAL FORM AND USING AN APPROPRIATE CRITICAL LANGUAGE, THE RESULTS OF AN ANALYSIS FOCUSED ON THE SPECIFICITIES OF THE BAROQUE TEXT AND ON THE VARIOUS MANIFESTATIONS OF THE PHENOMENON OF INTERTEXTUALITY, BOTH FROM A DIACHRONIC AND SYNCHRONIC PERSPECTIVE.

LEARNING SKILLS
-BE ABLE TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE TO OTHER LITERARY FIELDS (BOTH ON A DIACHRONIC AND A DIATOPIC LEVEL), USING BIBLIOGRAPHIC RESOURCES.
BE ABLE TO DEEPEN KNOWLEDGE THROUGH FURTHER RESEARCH AND UPDATES.
Prerequisites
STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE PASSED EXAMS OF SPANISH AND SPANISH LITERATURE I, II, III, IV.

Contents
AFTER A FIRST INTRODUCTION ABOUT SPANISH BAROQUE THEATRE, THE COURSE WILL ANALYZE SOME SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF THIS GREAT PHENOMENON, AND IN PARTICULAR THE FIGURE OF SPANISH PLAYWRIGHT LOPE DE VEGA AND HIS PRODUCTION.
Teaching Methods
LECTURES. REGULAR ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Verification of learning
ORAL OR WRITTEN EXAM, TO BE DECIDED WITH THE PROFESSOR.
