Objectives
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: DEEPEN THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE RELEVANT MOMENTS OF RUSSIAN CULTURAL HISTORY THROUGH THE STUDY OF THE HISTORY OF POETIC VERSE AND LANGUAGE. WE WILL FOCUS ON THE ANALYSIS OF SOME POEMS OF THE GREATEST ARTISTIC PERSONALITIES OF THE VARIOUS PERIODS, FROM THE "GOLDEN CENTURY" TO OUR DAYS.


THE STUDENT:
- WILL KNOW THE MOST RELEVANT MOMENTS OF THE EVOLUTION OF RUSSIAN VERSE BETWEEN THE END OF XVIII AND THE MODERN TIME AND ITS MAIN REPRESENTATIVES;
- WILL UNDERSTAND THE CLOSE INTERWEAVING BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OF POLITICAL, CULTURAL AND LITERARY HISTORY OF THE RUSSIAN SPACE;
- WILL APPROACH THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND EUROPE IN MODERN AGE.


THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- ELABORATE ORIGINAL APPROACHES AND INTUITIONS IN THE ANALYSIS OF THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CHARACTERS THAT REPRESENT THE SPECIFICITY OF THE RUSSIAN SPACE;
- EXAMINE WITH COMPETENCE THE LITERARY SOURCES RELATED TO THE RUSSIAN TRADITION OF THE EIGHTEENTH-BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURY;
- RESOLVE AND TRANSLATE WITH CRITICAL AWARENESS THE ASSESSMENT OF THE THEMES AFFECTED IN THE GENERAL FRAMEWORK OF CULTURAL RELATIONS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND EUROPE;


THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- CRITICALLY SELECT BIBLIOGRAPHIC AND LITERARY SOURCES;
- FORMULATE HYPOTHESES, RECOGNIZE LOGICAL CONNECTIONS, ARGUE, COMPARE AND EVALUATE LITERARY TEXTS RELATED TO THE PERIOD COVERED BY THE COURSE;
- PLACE AND CONSIDER LITERARY PHENOMENA IN RELATION TO THE CULTURAL CONTEXT OF REFERENCE AS WELL AS TO THEIR TEMPORAL EVOLUTION.


THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- HAVE CONVERSATIONS ON MULTIPLE THEMES SHOWING A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUES RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF RUSSIAN LITERATURE;
- REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE HIS/HER ANALYTICAL SKILLS THROUGH TEXTS.

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND COMPUTER RESOURCES FOR ANALYSIS AND DATA STORAGE;
- CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX SCIENTIFIC OR LITERARY TEXTS;
- CONTINUOUSLY UPDATE HIS/HER KNOWLEDGE, USING THE SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE OF REFERENCE.

Prerequisites
AFTER GETTING OVER THE EXAMS I-II-III STUDENT MUST HAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF RUSSIAN LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE, AN ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF THE METHODOLOGIES OF TEXT ANALYSIS AND OF LITERARY CRITICISM

DURING ORAL EXAM THE STUDENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE RUSSIAN CULTURAL HISTORY IN THE EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE. EXAMINATION PREVIEWS READING, TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION OF ORIGINAL TEXTS.
