KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE PROCESS OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION, THE EUROPEAN UNION, AND THE EUROPEAN MONETARY UNION, THEIR INSTITUTIONS AND ACTIVITIES, AND MAJOR ECONOMIC FIELDS AFFECTED BY THEM

THE COURSE COVERS THE MAIN ECONOMIC AND ECONOMIC POLICY ASPECTS OF THE EUROPEAN INTEGRATION PROCESS:

(1) THE PATH OF THE EUROPEAN INTEGRATION PROCESS AND EU INSTITUTIONS;

(2) POLITICAL ECONOMY OF THE INTEGRATION PROCESSES: REGIONALISM AND MULTILATERALISM, THE THEORY OF CUSTOMS UNIONS, THE EFFECTS OF ALLOCATION AND RATIONALIZATION, INTEGRATION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH, THE COMMON MARKET;

(3) ECONOMICS AND POLICIES OF THE EU: AGRICULTURAL POLICY, REGIONAL POLICY, COMPETITION POLICIES AND STATE AID, COMMERCIAL POLICY, LABOR MARKET AND MIGRATION POLICIES;

(4) EUROPEAN MONETARY UNION AND MACRO POLICIES: FISCAL POLICY, STABILITY AND GROWTH PACT; MONETARY INTEGRATION AND MONETARY POLICY IN THE EMU; EURO AND FINANCIAL MARKETS; STRATEGIES FOR GROWTH AND NEIGHBOR POLICIES.

PROJECT WORK 30%
FINAL RESULT OF A TEAM WORKING ACTIVITY ON A SINGLE TOPIC COVERED IN SEMINARS OR CLASSES, IT WILL CONSIST IN A REPORT OR A SHORT ESSAY THAT WILL BE PRESENTED IN CLASS. BY FAVORING THE ATTITUDE TO TEAM WORKING IT WILL EVALUATE AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF THE STUDENT AS DECLINED IN THE SECTION “EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS”

WRITTEN EXAM 40%
STRUCTURED IN TWO SECTIONS: A MULTIPLE CHOICES QUESTIONS AND AN OPEN QUESTIONS ON THE ISSUES COVERED IN THE COURSE. IT CHECKS KNOWLEDGE OF BOTH THEORETICAL INSTRUMENTS AND CONCRETE POLICY ASPECTS OF THE EUROPEAN INTEGRATION. THE SECTION OF OPEN QUESTIONS WILL VERIFY IN PARTICULAR THE ABILITY OF APPLYING KNOWLEGE TO SPECIFIC TOPICS. ENTER THE ORAL EXAMS STUDENT WHO PASS THE WRITTEN ONE WHIT A MINIMUM OF 18/30.

ORAL EXAM 30%
IT REFERS TO BOTH THEORETICAL INSTRUMENTS AND CONCRETE POLICY ASPECTS OF THE EUROPEAN INTEGRATION AND EVALUATES KNOWLEDGE AND THE ABILITY OF ARGUMENTATION ON THE TOPICS COVRED IN THE COURSE.

THE FINAL SCORE WILL BE A WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE SCORES OBTAINED IN THE THREE TESTS.
