Objectives
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH METHODOLOGICAL AND QUANTITATIVE KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO THE MANAGEMENT OF SUPPLY CHAIN PROCESSES AND THE EFFICIENT DESIGN OF SUPPLY CHAINS. STUDENTS WILL BE TRAINED IN THE DESIGN OF SMART AND SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAINS, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE IMPLICATIONS RESULTING FROM THE ADOPTION OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES, IDENTIFYING IMPACTS, BENEFITS, AND IMPLEMENTATION CHALLENGES.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
BY THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD ACQUIRE THE SKILLS NEEDED TO DESIGN, MANAGE, AND MONITOR THE TECHNICAL, RELATIONAL, ECONOMIC, AND FINANCIAL ASPECTS OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT. THEY SHOULD ALSO BE ABLE TO ASSESS THE USE OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES TO SUPPORT SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PROCESSES. STUDENTS WILL LEARN TO USE EXCEL PROFESSIONALLY TO IMPLEMENT OPERATIONAL TOOLS UTILIZING SPREADSHEETS AND TO IMPLEMENT OPERATIONAL METHODOLOGIES WITHIN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS.

MAKING JUDGMENTS
STUDENTS WILL WORK ON REAL APPLICATIONS FOR SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT, BOTH IN GROUPS AND ALONE. SUCH EXPERIENCES WILL MAKE THEM DEVELOP CAPABILITY OF ANALYSIS AND OF MAKING AUTONOMOUS JUDGMENTS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
STUDENTS HAVE TO PRESENT THE RESULTS OF THEIR PROJECTS TO THE CLASSROOM WITHIN AN ASSIGNED TIMING, IMPROVING THEIR COMMUNICATION SKILLS. MOREOVER, STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE TECHNICAL LANGUAGE OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT, AS WELL AS TECHNICAL LANGUAGE CONCERNING EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES SUPPORTING SUCH PROCESSES.

AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS ARE PROVIDED WITH VARIABLES AND METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS NECESSARY TO MANAGE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PROCESSES AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES SUPPORTING THEM.
THANKS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH HIGHER-LEVEL STUDIES AND, BY VIRTUE OF THE MANY APPLICATIONS OF REAL-LIFE STUDIES, WILL BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH THE WORK WORLD WITH COMPETENCE.

THE STUDENT WILL BE TRAINED IN RESEARCHING INNOVATIVE APPLICATIONS OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN WITHIN SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES, USING GENERATIVE AI TOOLS AND LARGE LANGUAGE MODELS LIKE CHATGPT, WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON PROMPT ENGINEERING TECHNIQUES AND THE DESIGN LOGIC OF OPERATIONAL METHODOLOGIES FOR THESE TOOLS.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE INCLUDES 60 HOURS OF TEACHING, DIVIDED INTO LECTURES (30 HOURS) AND SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS ON A GROUP PROJECT WHERE THEY WILL IMPLEMENT AN EXCEL MODEL TO ASSESS THE IMPACTS OF APPLYING EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN A SMART SUPPLY CHAIN. THE COURSE ALSO INCLUDES TRAINING IN THE PROFESSIONAL USE OF EXCEL AND THE APPLICATION OF PROMPT ENGINEERING METHODOLOGIES FOR GENERATIVE AI TOOLS LIKE CHATGPT (30 HOURS).
Verification of learning
THE EXAM CONSISTS OF THREE PARTS:
1) IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS OF APPLICATIONS OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN: STUDENTS MUST CRITICALLY ANALYZE THE IMPACT OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ON THE SUPPLY CHAIN, USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND A WEB PLATFORM PROVIDED BY THE PROFESSOR.
2) PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF GROUP PROJECTS: STUDENTS MUST DEMONSTRATE CRITICAL ANALYSIS SKILLS AND THE ABILITY TO IMPLEMENT AN EXCEL MODEL, SHOWING THE IMPLICATIONS OF ADOPTING EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN AND DESIGNING SOFTWARE INTERFACES THROUGH EXCEL.
3) BRIEF ORAL EXAM WITH THREE OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS: STUDENTS MUST DEMONSTRATE THEORETICAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE TOPICS COVERED AND THE ABILITY TO APPLY THEM TO PRACTICAL CONTEXTS.

THE FINAL EVALUATION IS DETERMINED BY THE AVERAGE OF THE RESULTS OF THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS.
