Biography

Graduated in 2002 with a degree in Law from the University of Salerno, he was awarded a PhD in Comparative Law and Individual Rights in 2005.

He currently serves as a full professor of Comparative Private Law (SSD 12/GIUR-11; GIUR-11/A) at the University of Salerno.

He teaches Comparative Information and Communication Law, Private Law Institutions, and Comparative Sports Law at the University of Salerno. He also teaches Digital Communication Law at the IUAD – Institute of Universal Art and Design and Commercial Law (International Business Administration) at Link Campus University. Additionally, he teaches Human Rights and Comparative Law in the Master’s Program in Political Science at the Universidad Católica de Colombia.

He has held major institutional roles, including Director of the Department of Political and Communication Sciences (2019–2024) at the University of Salerno where he also served as Delegate for International Relations and International Mobility and Coordinator for Relations with Colombia. Former Coordinator of the PhD Program in “Technological Innovation and Communication” at IUAD Institute of Universal Art and Design (Napoli – Milano), he has served as Director of the Master’s Program in Information Technologies and Public Administration at the University of Salerno.

His service to the scientific community includes Corresponding foreign member of the Academia Colombiana de Jurisprudencia, member of the Italian Academy of the Internet Code, and member of the Scientific Committee on Public Communication of the Italian Association of Public and Institutional Communication. He also held the position of Secretary General of the Italian Association of Comparative Law.

Visiting fellow at University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign (USA), University of Haifa (Israel), Universitat Estatal de Barcelona (Spain). Awarded an honorary doctorate from the Catholic University of Colombia (Bogotá, Colombia). He has coordinated and participated in several national and international research projects, including a PRIN project on democratic innovations and Internet governance.

He is the author of numerous monographs and edited volumes on comparative law, digital law, civil liability, NFTs, co-branding, and sports law. Editor-in-Chief of the journal Ex Cathedra (Merita Edizioni) and member of the editorial boards of the following journals: Comparazione e Diritto Civile, Diritto, Mercato e Tecnologie, Comparative Law Review, Medialaws.eu, Rivista di Diritto ed Economia dello Sport, and of the book series Comparazione e Diritto Civile (Giappichelli Editore).
