Framing Climate Change across Disciplines. Science, Society, and Communication

The Summer School on Climate Change will be held at the University of Salerno from 16 to 19 June 2026.

The School is promoted by the Department of Humanities - "Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici" (DipSumUNISA) with the involvement of teachers and scholars from other University Departments. Climate change represents one of the most complex challenges of our time, which requires transdisciplinary skills that blend scientific, social, cultural, ethical and communication skills. This Summer School is designed to foster dialogue between disciplines and explore how climate change is addressed in different academic and social contexts. Over the course of four days of conferences and interactive workshops, participants will engage with scholars from geography, linguistics, philosophy, sociology, psychology, politics and communication studies. The program will address the impact of climate change on health, ecosystems, social inequalities and public discourse, while also examining the ethical and communicative dimensions of climate action. The School aims to support early career researchers in applying their skills to interdisciplinary research and communication practices. The Summer School will be held in English and will take place in person.

The Call for applications from doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and early career scholars from different disciplinary contexts is open - at this link.
