Research Research Project (TREE4NB)
"The Training, Reorganizing, Evaluating, Enabling for Natural Birth (TREE4NB) research and development project" sees the collaboration between Innovery Spa and the Università degli Studi di Salerno to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the birth path and related expenditure health care in public and private care facilities.
Objectives
With the help of new Big Data Analysis technologies, the project aims to create a new management model for births that limits the use of the cesarean section to cases where it is clinically necessary. TREE4NB, through an IT tool that supports the decisions taken by clinicians, healthcare managers, and patients involved in the birth process, aims to reduce the possible health risks of pregnant women and newborns, also resulting in a lower cost increase for the entire National Health System.
Results
The main result of the project is the development of the TREE4NB Technological Platform, an innovative computer tool of artificial intelligence for monitoring and optimizing the birth path. The Platform uses machine learning algorithms capable of analyzing sets of variables contained within thousands of records, relating to the birth path, which correlate with the mode of delivery. The forecasts on the probability of cesarean delivery have 88.7% reliability.
