Functions

The Permanent Research Commission has instruction and/or proposal tasks concerning:

-Research activities that the department manages and promotes in the interest of the department itself and its members, respecting the autonomy of the latter and their right to directly and independently access research funding;
-Identification of tangible and intangible tools to promote quality research;
-Definition and ongoing revision of the scientific and cultural project of the department;
-Coordination of promotional activities towards other research institutions and their territory;
-Promotion of any activity aimed at intensifying the internal and external scientific collaborations of the Department;
-Participation of the Department (as a whole) and the individuals belonging to research initiatives of national and international importance;
-Establishment of any research organizational structures, including laboratories, not endowed with administrative autonomy;
-Definition of criteria and guidelines for the verification and monitoring of the quality of the research activity carried out by the members of the Department, within the general framework envisaged by current legislation and the criteria defined by the V.Q.R. (Research quality assessment);
-Any other research task established by the Department Council (Department series)
-Elaboration and proposition of the distribution criteria of the FARB attributed to the Department
-Distribution of FARBs.
The commission also expresses an opinion, also elaborating autonomous proposals, on the programmatic lines for research formulated by the Department Council. It also expresses an opinion on the internal evaluation criteria of the research activity and on the activation and maintenance of information systems for collecting data useful for the evaluation procedures.
