Applied Mathematics

Research Applied Mathematics

The Applied Mathematics area includes 1 full professor, 2 associate professors. Expertise gained partly through participation in relevant national and international research collaborations covers homogenization problems, boundary problems in complex structure domains, partial differential equations, technology-enhanced teaching/learning of mathematics, transition from school mathematics to university mathematics, as well as problems of continuum mechanics and thermomechanics.

Research topics

  • Homogenization theory
  • Asymptotic analysis of boundary problems in complex structure domains
  • Partial differential equations
  • Wave propagation, stability and well-posedness
  • Technology-enhanced teaching/learning in mathematics
  • Mathematics teaching/learning processes in transition from school to university

Teaching activity

The teaching activity of the group mainly consists in courses of Mathematics for the degree course in Computer Engineering and Information Engineering for Digital Medicine.
