Research Orientare alle diversità culturali – InTeamCult
For some time now, the dialogue between professional skills, business paths and university education has been the focus of reflection, proposals and perspectives. And it is precisely along these lines that the work orientation project 'Internationalisation and multicultural teams: orienting to cultural diversity - InTeamCult' was born. The project's scientific coordinator is Carmen Gallucci of the Department of Business and Management Sciences & Innovation Systems (DISA-MIS); contact persons are Serena Serravalle of the Department of Economics and Statistics (DISES) and Maria Prosperina Vitale of the Department of Political and Social Studies (DISPS). An innovative and transversal project born from the collaboration of the three departments of the University of Salerno, the Salerno Chamber of Commerce and the companies Rinaldi Group and Healthware.
But let us see specifically what the action and training points of this project are.
Firstly, it must be specified that there is a twofold objective underlying the project: to raise awareness of the importance of knowing how to communicate and make decisions in multicultural decision-making contexts and to focus attention on the behaviour of students in simulated interaction with other cultures. A twofold objective that we want to build on the conviction that many of our contemporary cultural problems arise from a misunderstanding of cultural differences.
And this is where Cross Cultural Management Education (a process that allows those who interact with people from different cultures to learn those skills that facilitate effective interaction by reducing potential misunderstandings and likely inappropriate behaviour) fits in, starting from managerial and entrepreneurial assumptions.
