THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS AND METODOLOGICAL TOOLS THAT ENABLE THEM TO ANALYZE AND INTERPRETE PROCESSES AND PROBLEMS REGARDING SCHOOL MOTIVATION AND LEARNING. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE COURSE PROVIDES BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY THAT ALLOW THE UNDERSTANDING OF THEORETICAL PARADIGMS, METHODOLOGIES AND DEVELOPMENTS OF CURRENT RESEARCH ON COGNITIVE PROCESSES. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE COURSE DEALS WITH THE MAIN THEORETICAL APPROACHES, AND SHOWS THEIR PRACTICAL RELEVANCE. |

INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION ON THE HISTORY OF PSYCHOLOGY WILL BE PROVIDED TOGETHER WITH BASIC INTRODUCTION TO THE MAIN EPISTEMOLOGICAL APPROACHES OF THE DISCIPLINE THEORETICAL CONSTRUCTS AND RESEARCH PARADIGMS. A GREAT DEAL OF ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO THE PROCESSES OF KNOWLEDGE FORMATION. THE COURSE WILL THEN ADDRESS ISSUES REGARDING MEMORY, EMOTION AND LEARNING. MOREOVER, TOPICS REFERRING TO INTELLIGENCE WILL BE ADDRESSED. |
