This multimedia computer laboratory has been managed by the Department since 1999, with the aim of facilitating new teaching activities that require digital skills. It is linked with the PhD Students' Room, as both rooms form part of the same computer network and both are linked with a server room which hosts various services, including a file server, print server, DHCP, DNS, WINS, IIS, Proxy and Gateway.

The multimedia computer laboratory has 41 PCs for students, 2 for teaching staff and 3 network printers. Students can access office automation software from this laboratory as well as using scientific software for data management and statistical analysis.

The main services are targeted at institutional teaching activities, including courses, exercises and exams that require access to computer and multimedia facilities, as well as activities that form part of the PhD programmes coordinated by DISES.

Students who are preparing their final-year dissertation can receive support to access the department's system for "Online Dissertation Requests".

Finally, the computer laboratory has been used since June 2015 for the online test for Economics (TOLC-E), which is a requirement in order to participate in the selection process for the degree courses in Business Economics (L-18) and Economics and Commerce (L-33).
