Academic Senate Assignments
The Academic Senate establishes the University policy and its educational and research orientation. It also contributes to develop the University strategic planning. It has regulatory, proactive, advisory, coordinative and and controlling functions over the University’s research and teaching activities.
The Academic Senate, as established in the Statute, has the following composition:
- the Rector, who presides;
- seventeen professors, of whom at least seven Heads of Department, elected by one vote and proportional to the numbers in each Faculty, as defined by the University general regulations;
- two members representing and elected by second level university professors ;
- two members representing and elected by researchers;
- five elected student representatives;
- three representatives elected by the technical administrative staff
