Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO DEVELOP THE ABILITY OF THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF CULTURAL PROCESSES, WITH A PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE WAYS IN WICH CULTURAL ARTS AND THE COLLECTIVE IMAGINARY, IN THE WEST COUNTRIES, IN THE 20TH CENTURY, ARE LOCATED IN A SOCIAL AREA WITH MEDIOLOGICAL CENTRALITY, ESPECIALLY IN THE COURSE OF THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES OF THE COMMUNICATION NETWORKS THAT IMPLY NEW RELATIONAL PERSPECTIVES BETWEEN THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE COMMUNITY. DURING THE COURSE, THE SOCIO-CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS OF DIGITAL NETWORKS AND TELEMATIC NETWORKING PLATFORMS (IDENTITY CONSTRUCTION, ONLINE SHARE CAPITAL CREATION ETC.) WILL BE ANALYZED WITH RESPECT TO THE CONSTITUTIVE RELATIONS OF THE MEDIA GENERAL SYSTEM ( IN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OLD MEDIA AND NEW MEDIA) AND THE FORMS WITH WHICH THE INDIVIDUAL KNOWLEDGE, THE DIFFUSED KNOWLEDGE AND THE STRUCTURAL HORIZONS OF COLLECTIVE KNOWLEDGE ARE ORIENTED AND STRUCTURED WILL BE EXPLICITED.
THE APPLICATIONS OF THE COURSE WILL CONCERN THE FORMATION OF STUDENTS ABILITY TO IDENTIFY THE MAIN AXES OF CULTURE AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION, WITH A PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO HIERARCHIZATIONS, CONFLICT LINES, AND CONVERGENCES BETWEEN DIFFERENT SOCIAL POLITICAL CONTEXTS (THE NORTH AND SOUTH OF THE WORLD). IN ADDITION, THE DETERRITORIALIZING DYNAMICS OF THE NETWORK AND THE RELEVANCE OF WHAT CASTELLS DEFINES THE “SPACE OF FLOWS”, DISTINCT FROM THE “SPACE OF PLACES”, IN THE PROCESSES OF ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION, WILL BE INVESTIGATED.

GOOD REASONING ABILITY, SENSE CRITICAL, OVERVIEW, ATTENTION TO CONTEXT, ANALYSIS AND SUMMARY SKILLS, ABILITY TO DEVELOP THE DIVERGENT THINKING, CREATIVITY, INTUITION, JUDGEMENT.

TEACHING FOCUSES ON THE ANALYSIS OF CONSTRUCTIVE AND LOGICAL MECHANISMS THAT CHARACTERIZES COMMUNICATION OF NEW AND TRADITIONAL MEDIA. ANOTHER OBJECTIVE IS TO INVESTIGATE THE BUILDING OF SOCIAL CAPITAL ONLINE AND THE INTESECTION OF ONLINE AND OFFLINE TIES IN THE SOCIAL MEDIA SOCIETY

LECTURES, WORKSHOPS MOMENTS, FOCUS GROUPS, BRAINSTORMING TECHNIQUES, USE AND COMMENT OF VIDEO.

VERIFICATION OF LEARNING:
AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT SHOULD HAVE ACQUIRED: A) KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SOCIO-CULTURAL DYNAMICS ACTIVATED BY TRADITIONAL AND NEW MEDIA AND THE ROLE OF THE MEDIA IN THE PROCESSES OF ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION, B) ABILITY TO ANALYSIS OF THE ROLE OF MEDIA IN THE CURRENT COVID19 PANDEMIC.

THE FINAL ASSESSMENT PROVIDES AN ORAL TEST TO VERIFY THE DEGREE OF PREPARATION OF THE STUDENT.
