Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “New visions of the European Union’s role in global health” (EU4GH)
The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence "New Visions of the European Union's Role in Global Health" (EU4GH) led by Professor Stefania Negri, from the Department of Legal Sciences is conceived as an interdepartmental high-quality research and teaching hub, aiming to position itself nationally and internationally as a focal point of expertise and knowledge on EU studies regarding global health issues. Its focus lies on the external dimension of the European Health Union and the leading role that the EU plays as a key actor in the global health scenario, aligning with the EU Global Health Strategy and the European Commission's Priority "A Stronger Union in the World." The Centre brings together experts in EU and International Law with a long track record of academic work on EU and global health law, as well as high-level officers from Italian governmental institutions operating in the field of health. It is led by the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Salerno and supported by the "Observatory on Human Rights: Bioethics, Health, Environment." It benefits from the advice and contributions offered by internationally recognized experts and closely collaborates with a large network of European, African, and American academic associations, university departments, and research centers.
Jean Monnet “EU-GLOBACT” Module
The Jean Monnet EU-GLOBACT module, led by Professor Anna Oriolo from the Department of Legal Sciences, is dedicated to advancing teaching and research excellence in EU legal studies at the University of Salerno. This module offers a specialized, interdisciplinary course aimed at enhancing understanding of the evolving EU global policy concerning the combat against transnational crime and equips participants with the necessary expertise vital for their future professional endeavors.
